Why complicate my life by moving to a non-English speaking country, leaving my newly established business based in London and running it virtually from >1000km away?
I am following my intuition and being true to myself in a massive way. Does it make much logical sense? Absolutely not. Am I scared? Terrified! Yet I have a deep certainty that this is where I am meant to be in the short to medium term. Do I think I will stay there? Maybe not long term... but one of the most liberating things has been the realisation that if I want to move again in a year's time, then the world really is my oyster. I've let go of the need to plan things to the n'th degree. I'm being flexible with the dates, and have not yet decided where (exactly) I will live. But I have my faith, my kittie-passports, and an electrifying excitement I've not experienced in a long while.
I will be enjoying my (early!) mid-life Gap Year in Salzburg, Austria. Surrounded by fresh air, views of the Alps, and distinct seasons.
This is time for me to focus on all the things I've not allowed myself to prioritise in life before:
- achieving fluency in German (& Austrian dialect!)
- getting back in touch with nature, & savouring that connection
- doing what is truly best for me, appreciating the balance of independence & responsibility. I have let go of taking things for granted; & of control.
- letting my writing, passion & purpose flow
- building an additional social group & new supportive lifestyle habits
- allowing my business to massively bloom
- having faith that my key relationships grow as they are meant to
By the end of this year I have clarity around where I am meant to be & who I am at my very best.

Thanks for the inspiration to keep you all updated!
My excitement has increased as I think I've found the flat I want to rent - and it's not quite what I'd expected!
I had a strange moment about a week ago - where I had an intuitive feeling that I would live in a house (rather than an apartment), more in the countryside than the city... which is a shock - as I've lived about as centrally as you can get in London for the last 6.5 years.
Following that instinct, I expanded my online searching, and have found a place that I'm kinda warm & fuzzy about :D
Will keep you posted on how that develops!

OK, Sam... what's your latest update? Did you get the home you were being drawn to in the country? Kind of fun, huh?! Aware of your instincts, listening to your passion, and actually being free to follow the path meant to be! Do tell, what's the latest?
Thanks again for the support Linda!
The last month or so has seen my dream place materialise - so the warm & fuzzies were spot on - and I can't be happier about having 180 degree views of the mountains/alps from my bedroom & living areas!
The move is 3 weeks away now and the pressure is on. It's like my dream is been tested with all the red-tape, unexpected costs and challenges that have come up lately. Great news is, its given me a chance to revisit my plans and be really clear that this move is still what I want!
Flights for my kitties and I are now booked (am so happy Luftansa allows cats in the cabin as excess 'hand luggage') so it can't get much more real than this!
Nerves? You betcha!
Excitement? Hell yeah!
I can't wait to be breathing that fresh crisp air!
Congratulations! How inspiring it is to see you pursuing your dreams and allowing us to watch them unfold. When I visualize your 180 degree view of the mountains/alps and taste that fresh, crisp air, I am SO jealous! And how very exciting!! Please continue to share your adventure with us. Keep writing!
I've decided to have some fun with my journey, and have started a blog entry for Destination : Salzburg!
