Over the years I have learned that people don’t often change, but they always have an opportunity to grow. A commitment to your own growth and an openness to others who can help you achieve it is a formula for a better life.
I have spent the past twenty-three years helping people live healthier emotional and spiritual lives. At the La Vie Center in Pasadena, I have a staff of over twenty therapists that come along side of those who struggle to be more whole as individuals and more effective in their relationships with others. We have helped people face almost every kind of emotional and psychological problem you can imagine, and watched them get better, instead of bitter, as a result of the problems they have faced.
I have Ph.D. in clinical psychology, Masters in theology and a certificate in advanced psychodynamic psychotherapy. But, my real education has been the thousands of hours spent listening to the struggles and longings of folks wanting to live more fulfilling lives. We all seem to want to improve as individuals and at the same time we want connect to something more meaningful than ourselves. My life’s work has been to help people accomplish both of these things.
I have written several books and articles designed to help people integrate their spiritual and emotional lives. I have been on television and radio many times and given countless lectures and seminars on personal growth. One of my books, Jesus-The Greatest Therapist Who Ever Lived was an international best seller because of the millions of people who found the timeless wisdom of Jesus to be relevant for their emotional lives today. While studying contemporary psychological theories, I found that some things we think are new ideas have actually been said before.
It’s exciting and an honor to be a part of the growth process, and I’m looking forward to being a part of that process in the community at PeopleJam.
