Even still in today's society, women are thought to be submissive and peacemakers. This book butts those theories into the wind and gives you permission to take control of your life, your mind and your spirit. To be yourself, and to make life something incredible. After reading this book, I can't see how anyone would not instantly feel awesome about themselves. I certainly got a self-esteem boost. You'll find "11 commandments" that are truly inspirational and many quotes that set you free. It's also an easy read, and I would recommend it to any woman looking to gain some confidence, empowerment and a renewed sense of energy.

When I purchased “Empowering Women,” I was already a great admirer of Louise Hay. I was very pleased that she had written a book especially for women, which even men can read. The best part of this book is Louise Hay’s eleven commandments for women.

Let me tell you, in a nutshell, what this book comprises. It tells us what many of us women are hardly aware of, that we are powerful beings!! And also Louise tells us how important it is for us women to regain our lost self-esteem, to stick to one another, to honor our bodies and love ourselves for what we are, and to realize our worth and power. Besides teaching us to love ourselves, which is the core of Louise’s teaching, she even lets out a secret—it is within the power of woman to create the man of her choice. This book is truly a must for every woman.

I am a big fan of Louise Hay, but I have to admit I did not enjoy this book as much as You Can Heal Your Life. It was a good read, but I admit I skipped some pages here and there, as they were similar to You Can Heal Your Life. What made this book unique was that it would really be helpful for women who are young, or even those who lacked self-esteem due to a bad relationship, or any bad experience in their life. It touches on everything you encounter in your life from harassment, to raising children. It teaches you, as all her books do to love yourself first. It really teaches women that it is alright to be alone, and how to become financially stable without a man in your life. I love how she tells you to always be positive, and to stop criticizing yourself. There are so many women that can relate to this chapter. Really what she is saying are things we already know - take care of our bodies, educate ourselves, be creative, and build a spiritual connection.
I really think this book could be a self-esteem booster for someone that is just beginning their life again.

Empowering Women: Every Woman's Guide to Successful Living is well written with real life and easy to relate to information for a woman of any age and experience. This book goes into how to overcome self-confidence issues and self-esteem issues among the other issues in our life that can be chiseled away as life goes on. It reminds us that no matter what our past is or our failures are, we can still rise, be strong and feel the powerful woman we are! This is a great book also for the young woman out of high school and out on her own. It's never too early to start this lesson of empowerment and this book is a great tool!
