Millions of people throughout the world have improved their lives using The Magic of Thinking Big. Dr. David J. Schwartz, long regarded as one of the foremost experts on motivation, will help you sell better, manage better, earn more money, and -- most important of all -- find greater happiness and peace of mind.
The Magic of Thinking Big gives you useful methods, not empty promises. Dr. Schwartz presents a carefully designed program for getting the most out of your job, your marriage and family life, and your community. He proves that you don't need to be an intellectual or have innate talent to attain great success and satisfaction -- but you do need to learn and understand the habit of thinking and behaving in ways that will get you there. This book gives you those secrets!
This was the first book I ever read after deciding to own my own business. The first time I read it I just barely skimmed it and didn't get a lot out of it. But then I recently reread the book and found it so motivating! Everyone can take something from this book, it teaches you life skills about success, not just about business. Success is a mindset not necessarily a monetary figure, and this book helps you realize that. It also teaches you how to think positively in all situations. There is a silver lining in every negative thing. It built my confidence, helped me set goals, and see the smallest thing as victories. I recommend this to everyone!
Informative book with a lot of useful information. A positive approach to everyday living. One of those you make your own destiny books. There's a billion of these out there so I really wasn't that impressed with this one. But it's good if you just want to read someone preaching to you about how to change your life but to do it there way. Change your life. Take a new approach. Blah, blah that sort of thing. I was bored reading this and I gave it away.
I really like this book, and it opened up my life for me at 19. Just recently I saw that the "4 hour work week" author also recommended it. I think it's goals of challenging your own perceptions and mental limitations is one of the most important things you can do for yourself.
This was one of the very first books I read in the self improvement category. I have found this to be not a foundation of success, but a foundation plus “expansion” of that foundation. This will amplify your mind to expand your current thoughts and ideas about what is possible. This allows you to aim for and achieve larger goals than you thought possible before. It teaches that if your focus is small, your results will be small. Focus on bigger and better things to achieve bigger goals is the underlying gist of the book.
I like the fact that the book moderately specified specific details to help your apply the information given in this book. It implies that inspiration, vision, and motivation are more important than one’s education alone. It encourages changes as a way to stretch and grow in the right direction to achieve more in any area of life.
If you are starting to read books, make this your first. You will never find a reason to not succeed thereafter. David, in the first 60 pages, speaks of the failure disease called 'excusitis', of which I suspect everyone is a victim. We find excuses for everything and that's what holds us back from greatness.
Then of course is the question, what do we really want out of life? The book explores dimensions in this realm and sets the path for more books that your mind will become open to read. Practical ways to expand thinking and get real about life's options start coming to the fore as you absorb the text.
I for one, have grown from no books to four books at a time thanks to this one. And as for thinking big, the 'dream valve' in my brain was thrown open to enormous possibilities and stays that way, forever!
