Hump: True Tales of Sex After Kids by Kimberly Ford

Cheerfully honest, sometimes startling—and just a bit dirty—HUMP is a smart, subversive look behind real-life parental bedroom doors

Hump puts the lie to the conventional wisdom that once your children are born, your sex life dies. Hump is the chronicle of how a wide variety of couples have reclaimed their former, more sexy selves even amid the chaos of households teeming with young children. Hump is organized into thought-providing sections, including chapters such as:
--“Back in the Saddle” (first-time-after-childbirth sex)
--“I touch myself” (self—ahem—explanatory)
--“Snip!” (vasectomies)
--“Snap!” (what happens when the condom breaks)

By turns poetic and informative, Hump will inspire women to reclaim their bodies for themselves and their husbands, and to make sex a priority in their own lives no matter how many scuffed sneakers they have to kick out of the way to make it to bed.

Each married couple should read this awesome book. People especially women think sex life is not that important after kids come into the family. They think raising the children is the most important thing in life and therefore neglect their sex life often. This leads to so many misunderstandings and confusions in life. Each person should understand that sex after kids is no sin.

Each couple should enjoy sex to the fullest even after the kids. They need not feel guilty for doing so, Sex is divine, and it is a union of body and soul. Hump is a practical guide and should be kept in every home. Hump tells you how to regain your sexual interest and enjoy completely. It tells you how the short moments in the kitchen and shower would help you find new interests in sex life.

In a nutshell, I would say that sex after kids is fine and one should not lose interest in sex after kids. The tips given in this wonderful book have worked well for many couples all over the world. So, it will work for you as well. Happy sex life after kids.

It's too true that after giving birth I felt like... a whale that had been beaten with a dump truck, perhaps. I bought this book to help myself reclaim a bit of my sexuality, thinking it would be a little less focused on couples. It's a wonderful book, with a lot of awesome advice. It's even funny! I think if I wasn't a single mom, it would have been a bit more helpful though. I did, however, give my copy to a friend that IS married, and she raved about it!!

A friend of my wife gave this book to me and she kept it hidden from me for weeks. We do have a normal sex life but this book tells you to reconnect just like you were before marriage. You know.. bunnies and all.. it is an excellent way to bring some new excitement in your life together as parents if you read this book with your partner.

It tells you to start with capturing those small moments in the kitchen, in the shower etc.. i have read reviews talking about wine and such to accompany this and I agree. If you are not a wine drinker or even completely non alcoholic, you can just snuggle up to your partner and read this book. I read this book with my wife even though she had already read it twice and now I can relate to the book completely. It can be a little boring at times but on the w(hole) its a lovely book.

If you have kids are expecting to do so in the near future, then this book is for you. The stories serve to remind parents why sex is so important (emotionally, physically, and mentally) and can help motivate you to put that spark back in your love life.

Every parent knows that, after having kids, sex is just not at the top of your to do list. You are stressed, tired, and not feeling very sexy. By reading other people's stories, you know that you are not alone, but also see why sex needs to be high on your priority list!

Both my husband and I read this book and have become much more intimate since then. We now make sex a priority and make an effort to do special things for each other. It's like we are dating again! In fact, I think our sex life is better than it has ever been- after three kids!

Oh my goodness! There were so many times I was embarrassed when I was reading this book, even when I was by myself. It is so funny, true, and honest, and I love knowing that I am not the only person in the world who doesn't have the time or energy to focus on intimacy with my husband. It made me feel normal again, and gave me the courage to try to forge ahead to reclaim my intimacy with my husband. After my initial embarrassment, by husband and I took turns reading passages to eachother as we sipped glasses of wine, laughing out loud. I recommend giving this book to any new or expecting mom, accompanied by the bottle of wine. The wine will help ease the embarrassment, I assure you! Laugh, and enjoy this book. Then go upstairs with your spouse, lock the door, and take some time away from the kids to reconnect sexually. You won't regret it!

Oh my goodness...YES!!! This book lets you know that you are not alone in the world of "what happened to my sex life" after having children. This book was great. Some of it might make some of the more conservative couples blush like the part about masturbation. Most of us out there who have given birth have had those moments where you wonder if you will ever get your sex life back again. This book gives you hope in knowing that you aren't alone and that there are things you can do.
It helps you to take hold of those rare moments in the day where you and your spouse are alone in your room. Take advantage, lock the door and do the thing that gave you those children that are now playing in their bedroom.
My little sister is pregnant with her first child and I actually included this book in the gift basket that I made for her. After she read the chapter on "getting back in the saddle" she looked like she had been ran over by a truck. It was actually kind of funny.
This book is great though and all of us in the club of parenthood should read this book. Your sex life may depend on it.

If any of you parents out there have children, then you'll surely relate to the stories composed in this book. The "after baby" sex is a touchy topic. For women it can be painful and stressful. Tired new moms and dads may actually not even care to do the deed. This book shows us that it's important to make the time for intimacy. Also--I wholeheartedly suggest a glass of wine to help ease frayed nerves while getting back into the saddle so to speak.

The stories are hilarious. I can relate to the bit about the farting baby. It's bad enough when you have to scoot the sleeping baby to a place of her own, but it's not very sexy when she rips out a huge stinker.

This book would be a wonderful gift for the new mom or mom to be. I'd suggest including it in a gift basket for a baby shower.
