Lucinda Bassett overcame crippling anxiety-panic disorder to create a highly successful Attacking Anxiety program. This audio is a combination of her personal story and her program. The tape contains techniques and skills that the program teaches, as well as case histories and testimonials from participants. This is an account of one woman's journey from fear, anxiety and panic to success, personal power and peace of mind, with direct, gritty, powerful advice on how anyone can change their life for the better.
I have been faced for many years with anxiety attacks. Nine years ago, not only did I suffer from anxiety attacks, I also had agoraphobia (fear of going out). Being housebound for a year and a half, I searched the web and found this book.
I had heard about Ms. Bassett and her Attacking Anxiety program. I figured the book had some good coping skills in it.
After reading it from cover to cover. I quickly absorbed the lessons on coping with this disorder. It helped me to understand more about this paralyzing disorder and the survival skills I needed to overcome it.
I find myself resorting to the book time after time when the anxiety is getting bad. Ms. Bassett's book took me from being confined to the house; to being able to drive comfortably short distances.
I could relate to her own personal stories of when she suffered with the attacks. Her writing style makes you feel like all hope is not lost and you are not the only one suffering from the attacks.
This book brought me back to life. It actually showed me that I can live a normal life. I refer to it as my anxiety "bible". It's my reference when I do fall back and have bad days.
If you suffer from anxiety attacks, then this book is definitly for you. It's a tremendous help with a wealth of information to guide you through.
I highly recommend this book to you.
I found this book and thought it would be really helpful for anxiety and panic disorder. I did find it helpful in starting to understand the disorder and the causes and predisposing issues. I found it to be a bit light in the actual practical advice on how to overcome the disorder and its symptoms.
I would still recommend this to anyone with anxiety or panic disorder, especially if they are new to the situation, because it has some helpful basic advice as well as reassuring case histories.
I kept hearing about Lucinda Bassett’s book and program on the radio, and I was fascinated with it. Even my father called me to tell me I should try her program on anxiety, because the radio commercial sounded really effective. My purchase turned out to be a waste of time and money. The majority of the information offered is stories regarding other people. While it’s always nice to know that you’re not alone in struggling with panic and anxiety, more concrete information would have been appreciated. This program was a far cry from the miracle program I expected it to be. Instead, it was yet another sloppy conglomerate of many of the books I have previously read on anxiety. No new techniques, no discoveries that would change my life, although the advertising certainly assured me that my life would change. Panic to Power doesn’t live up to the hype.
