Someone gave me this book a few years ago. I didn't get it at all, was totally turned off by it. The supplements are very expensive but I know someone who lost over 100 pounds using several of his Garden of Life supplements. He's written several books including the Maker's Diet. At some point he stopped saying he ever had Crohn's Disease, just saying an incurable disease that was life threatening. His latest diet (I get his newsletter) is very similar with some modifications to The Specific Carbohydrate Diet which some say he was on for a period of time and got well. He has also had legal problems for claiming degrees he never finished and certifications from on-line colleges that do not have certifications or real campuses. He was sued in Southern Florida by the Federal Trade Commission for making false claims about his supplements. He claimed there were clinical studies behind his supplements; there are no studies. He is now listed under Quack Watch. He made claims of being able to cure certain diseases like Crohn’s Disease and there it is incureable. Even so, all his books are worth a look. You never know what may or may not help you.
