This book is essential. I had it when I was a child and I just recently bought it for my girl friend and her baby shower. She loved it because she also had the book when she was a kid, but totally forgot about it. It was great to bring back those memories for her and knowing that she's going to be able to read it to her child like it was read to her.

I'm so glad that they continue to publish just really amazing classic children's books. I know that there are alot of them, but there aren't that many quality ones. This is quality and this is just pure enjoyment and reminiscence.

Goodnight Moon has been a favorite in our house, and part of SOMEBODY'S bedtime ritual, for over 15 years! The first copy we received was a gift to my oldest daughter when her little sister came home from the hospital. Then their littler sisters loved it. Today I read it to my grandson at bedtime. An absolute must for any nursery library. These slippers are adorable to!

I got this book as a gift at my baby shower. I've loved this book since I was a child, so what a great way to introduce my son to reading! We read this book every night, and even now that he is old enough to pick his own books, he invariably picks up Goodnight Moon first, and says mommy read? What better book is there, then the reassurance that love is always there, and the world will be ok.

Goodnight Moon is a well-known and much loved children’s bedtime book. We have thought to try and instill a love of reading into our children, and began reading to them even when they were still just squirming in our arms. Goodnight Moon did not take off as a requested favorite until sometime later, of course, but a favorite it has indeed become. The book helps assure the child that there is love in the family, and that even outside of it all things deserve respect and the simplicity of a worded “goodnight”. This lesson is hardly imbibed by our children, but it is there, every reading, in the repetition. It is the wonderful illustrations that take their attention. To be sure, perhaps any book would be valued simply if it is held with them in their parents’ arms. In any case, “moon book” is an oft-uttered cry from our young ones, and I imagine yours will say the same.

I have read this book every night to my child who is now four, and we are now sharing this bedtime ritual with her sister, who is one. My four year old and I both have it memorized, and the baby says "hush" when we get to that part. This book is the perfect final book before bedtime for any child. Read the book to your children softly and gently while you hold them. I remember this book from when I was a child, and there is something truly beautiful about continuing the tradition with my own girls. I cannot recommend this book highly enough for parents of young children. Find the mouse on every page!

What a sweet little book! I got this book as a shower gift for my daughter and have become a believer in the magic of Goodnight Moon! The detailed illustrations are just fabulous. I'm sure all children can delight in the little hidden treasures in each drawing. And the language of the book, though it seemed a little odd at first, became mesmerizing.

Though my daughter isn't old enough to enjoy this book yet, I have read it to my nieces dozens of times. They love it so much and can recite the lines along with me. It has become a ritual in their house and, I'm sure, in millions of houses all over the world! I just can't wait until my little girl is old enough to enjoy it with me. I'm looking forward to many nights, cuddled in her bed, reading together the sweet, melodic words of Goodnight Moon!
