With his trademark wit, wisdom, and humor, bestselling author and lecturer Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explains how we can evolve from he lowest level of consciousness (ego) to the highest (unity). Dr. Dyer starts out with a challenge from A Course in Miracles: You don't have nay problems; you only think you do. He goes on to illustrate how the mind can control both physical and emotional well-being—all one has to do is create healthy, positive molecules and move away from negative thoughts. He also relates stories from real people, as well as anecdotes from his own life, to show how the presence of love in the face of hate can nullify all negativity.
On these CDs, Wayne Dyer will entertain and educate you, but most important, you will learn that the power to change is right within you—and that there truly is a spiritual solution to every problem.
The following review is based on the book I read, not the cd.
For Dyer fans, no doubt this book will enrapture and delight his readers. However, the majority of Dyer's book left me empty. One section of the book left me curious.
The first part of the book discusses the teachings of the many great philosophers we know. Dyer cites the Bible, the Koran, and Patanjali to mention a few.
Dyer's pop-psychology book differs from others, when half way through the book we encounter the prayer of “St. Francis of Assisi.” Dyer guides us through the prayer, teaching us a new way to perceive and enjoy life, despite the challenging world that surrounds us.
If Dyer left me with a feeling, I'm fascinated by his discussion of vibrational energy. When Stephen Hawking's name popped up, the subsequent chapters entranced me and the discussion challenged my thoughts. For this, I am thankful.
Outside of that benefit, I don't plan on buying another of Dyer's books.
But then, I am not a Wayne Dyer guru.
Wayne Dyer is a Silva Method graduate and from there, he has studied a lot of different methods. He has taken it to a whole new level. He covers muscle testing and the effects of negativity which is amazing. For instance, you can read about the muscle testing technique and use it on foods to see what is good or bad for you. There is a practical application for the techniques he gives you. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. It should be required reading in my opinion. He is very down to earth and he has creative solutions that inspire you look differently at situations. He is a great story-teller weaving in humor with basic truths. He takes meditation to a new level. He talks about meditating about events such as job interviews before they happen. The focus is on the end result. It seems like every time I hear him speak, I get something more out of it.
