I have been a big fan of Charles Stanley for many years. I have also watched and enjoyed his program "In Touch" also for a long time. However, I had not owned any of his books. A member of my church knew that I was a fan and bought this book as a birthday gift.

At the time, I was having a bit of financial difficulty. I was working, but my commissions were way down and I was way behind on bills and heavily in debt. I read a little bit each day and before long I was at the point where I couldn't put it down!

This book reminded me of God's grace and also the way we are to leave our troubles at the foot of Jesus. What it did for first was help me relax and gather myself knowing he was with me. It spoke a lot about "rebuilding" and God's guidance, and I really needed that!

Of course the reading was uplifting and it got me reconnected with God. I spent a lot of time thinking about my future with God, not about my past problems. It let me know, again, that God has a plan and a path for me and that I would be alright.

The best part of all was that from that time on, I focused better and managed myself better. It just didn't make me feel better; it made me confident, yet careful. I started with a new job that was steadier. I then started paying debt down gradually. All along I was thinking about this book! As I was getting steady pay and paying my bills, I felt empowered and so confident!

This book helped me through a hard time in my life and also helped me to move forward, with HIM, and be better than ever!

Charles Stanley is a wonderful author. You can feel his love and passion in his words. To me it is accurate to say this book is for everyone. Difficulties, loss, pain, purpose, truth…it is all touched upon. There was a time in my life that I lived with a void deep inside my heart. This void has been fulfilled by a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. There are still times of suffering, pain & difficulty but now I am not alone. These are the overriding themes of this book. Mr. Stanley wrote the book with the heart of a grandfather and comfort of a pastor. I highly recommend it, get a copy today.

My sister, who is a long time follower and reader of Charles Stanley, gave me this book as a gift. She believed that it would be a book that I would find readable. I not only found it very readable but I also found it very relevant to my life.

Discover Your Destiny is written in a much lighter manner then many other spiritual books, without the “deepness” that most of those books entail, which made it very easy to equate and relate the words to my everyday life. This book really helped me look at my beliefs in God in a way that I can see in my everyday life.

Charles Stanley has written this book in a manner that makes it very simple to follow, very uncomplicated, and easily relatable to every day life. I highly recommend this book for everybody, Christians, and non-Christians, alike.

Discover Your Destiny looked at how God's love can benefit the world. It demonstrates his power and grace and how he is working in our lives everyday. God is always with you, working to prepare for your entrance to his eternal kingdom.

I've read a few snippets of Charles Stanley's works, but this is his first book I've actually read cover to cover. I have to say, this is one of his better accomplishments. His ideas and views are easy to understand and follow. They are simple and somewhat relateable. He sets things out to be understood immediately instead of promote deep reflection and thinking. I prefer the reflection, but this book was pleasant and light to read. It didn't seem like what he wrote was anything very new to me, I'd read similar things before. His personal stories were refreshing, though.

This is a nice book, I'd recommend it to anyone who has enjoyed any of Charles Stanley's other works.

Over the years, I’ve read most of Charles Stanley’s books. This one seems better than the others I’ve read but they are all good. He is the main Pastor for the First Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a great teacher. In this book, he takes biblical teachings and makes them useful in everyday life. He explains by having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and following the initial promptings of the Holy Spirit, you’ll be lead to find your purpose.

This is not a prosperity book. It’s not a feel-good book but a very positive approach to solving problems from a Christian perspective. It is common sense and down to earth. If you are seeking your path and some inspiration, even if you aren’t a Christian, this is a must-read. I like this book because he writes in a clear way so it has an easy to follow, bottom-line, instructional feel. This book is awesome.
