It's Easy Being Green: A Handbook for Earth-Friendly Living by Crissy Trask

Surveys find that over 80 percent of Americans agree with the goals of the environmental movement. Sadly, most Americans admit to doing little more than basic recycling when it comes to acting on that disposition. What is the reason for this great divide between environmental sentiment in this country and individual actions? Author and environmental consultant Crissy Trask seeks to answer this question-and solve the disparity-with a new book that makes it easy to be an environmentalist, no matter how busy or hectic your lifestyle. This is a day to day guide with simple, practical suggestions that anyone can put into action,

I am a completely go-green doing all that I can do to help save the earth. I'm sure that a lot of people around me find me annoying, what with me telling them do-this, do-that, don't-do-it, you're killing the planet!, etc.
And this book helped me convince some of my colleagues, and friends to change a little of their lifestyle atleast. It's a great book, and especially in this time of environment crisis, it is a book that everyone must have. I learnt some more new things that I can do to save the Earth, and it is so wonderful to see that my colleagues and friends are finally making an attempt to erase a little carbon out of the planet.

This book was an eye opening wonderful experience. The day to day things that I now do, make me proud of myself and my family. I shared some of the ideas with my children, and they now are heading into the direction of 'going green.' As a Mom, I try my absolute best to right by both my children, our country, the environment, and the rest of my family. It gives me great satisfaction, personally, knowing that I am doing my part. I would delightfully recommend this book to anybody looking for any ideas of going green!!

For anyone that wants to learn about being green in an easy to understand, straight to the point manner then this is the book for you. I first borrowed it from the public library, but went and brought my own because I found myself returning to it time and time again because it is so useful. It has hundreds of tips that cover everything about being green including tips on how to get involved in the green movement. One of my favorite sections is the eco friendly companies organized by category. A lot of problems I had was locating sources for eco friendly products. I knew they were around, but I just didn’t know how to fine them. I would literally spend hours researching only to turn up very little of what I was looking for. This book has made it so much easier to shop from eco friendly companies, many of which I would not have found on my own.

This book was a very easy read. I blew through it in two days of on and off reading. It thoroughly explains so many different ways that we can change our earth destructive behaviors.

I thought this book was going to be one of those hippie style books where I would kind of gawk at it and just put it down. I was wrong. This book using examples of simple everyday things that you can do. The tips and tricks were extremely useful and frankly life altering.

I passed this book on to my friend and she also loved it. I am crediting it for minimizing my carbon footprint!

It just got easier to be green!

I bought this book when it first came out, before being green became so popular. Before we bought it, my husband and i tried to do what we could to be environmentally friendly, but we didn't always realize the vast amount of other things that could be done. This book helped us learn about more of those little things, which really add up to a healthier environment!

Most of our extended family don't even recycle, so this book also gave us easy tips to share with them, such as using large appliances on off-peak hours to save!

the book offers tips, plans, and even food labels to help you make better decisions! The author, Chrissy Trask, has written a delightful, easy to read book about being green, without being preachy or making the reader feel bad about their choices.

My family and I do all that we can to live eco-friendly. Unfortunately, my extended family does not understand why we recycle, seek out organic food and non-toxic household products. So, I purchased this book for my mother to enlighten her. When it came in the mail, it looked so cool that I had to read it first.

What I found was a delightful collection of tips and information. Now, I already have an extensive library of "going green" books. I was surprised to learn a few new things. So much for being a know it all. I really enjoyed the recipes to make my own household cleaning products. It saved me a few dollars instead of buying the expensive green cleaners at the store. My husband plans on using the information about rain barrels to install some on our house. I love it when I feel like I really get my money's worth from a book. My mother has been utilizing some of the tips in the book too. I highly recommend purchasing this book. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome book, and to get the point across right away this book was made from recycled material! Easily one of the best books I've read about going green, the way this book is written makes you want to keep on reading and reading resulting in late-night reading sessions. Right off the bat the book does a job of extinguishing 'green myths' which are things commonly thought to be true but are not, such as living green and eco friendly can be hard when it's in fact not. This book also has hundreds of tips to reduce your Ecological foot print, and has tips on how to change your lifestyle into a greener life style. If you are a green freak this book will not provide you with many new things as those you should already know this book is recommended for that one friend you have who you think could live a little bit greener.

As an environmentalist who is always looking for more ways to do the earth and myself some good, I found this book at the library and instantly fell in love with the format. The book is easy to read and is full of lists with descriptions. For example: it gives you a list of eco-labels to look for on products that claim to be green and then it goes into detailed definitions of each eco-label. I learned, that a lot of eco-labels are completely unregulated and basically mean nothing. I also learned a lot of eco-facts that I thought I already knew were truly false or misleading half-truths/lies put into circulation by corporations! This is a great book for beginner greenies and for people like me that have been green for years. You can not come away from this book without learning. I would recommend it for everyone. One thing I will say is that the print is very small. Just be aware of that.
