Since the publication of his stunning worldwide bestseller Conversations with God (more than two-and-a-half years on the New York Times list; now published in 37 languages), Walsch has been telling readers that a new understanding of God can change lives and change the world. Now, in this new book, he expands on that theme by exploring how ordinary people can work in direct collaboration with God to transform their everyday lives into extraordinary experiences.
This is not a book of spiritual theory. It provides a plan that can change lives. Included here is a program that Walsch calls "17 Steps to Being Happier than God," a plan that combines the best of the conceptual truths of his 9-book Conversations with God series, with the clearest description yet of how to turn those concepts into practical tools for altering life for the better—forever.
As a Christian, I believe that the Bible is absolutely the only revelation of God. The author of this book goes against everything that the Bible says about God. Through the teachings of the Bible, we know that we have our purpose and future through a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. This book goes against Biblical teachings and the author seems to only want God as a book character. This book was very disappointing and I do not recommend it at all.
I must say the title was interesting to me. That is the reason I investigated the book further. After reading I can honestly say I am very disappointed.
First off, I must say that I am a Christian and I believe the Holy Bible is truly the only revelation of God. Mr. Walsch contradicts in every single way what the Bible says about God. The author notes "the ability to create your own reality is an expression of God." The Bible teaches we find our purpose and destiny in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. The book includes 17 ways to becoming happy. They include the idea of "eliminating any thought of being separated from God." According to the Bible, separation from God is remedied by the aforementioned relationship with God through Christ.
His ideas are clearly not Biblical and Mr. Walsch seems to want to use God as a character in his books. If Mr. Walsch wants to author fictional books, they should be titled as fiction. The author should not use God and theology in such an unbiblical way.
Unlike the usual monologues, this book contains lively controversies with god. The book is vivid yet simple, it captures the attention of the readers and every genre of person can relate to it. The author has addressed issues with respect to ones one self, god, and the relationship between the two. The book not only focuses on god about also gives equal focus on the person.
The book is a ‘self improvement’ book in a true sense as it actually sets a plan of action which one must adopt to find happiness. It expounds about the 17 steps to follow, which will help you fulfill your quest for happiness.
Neale Donald Walsch is able to transform normal day to day activities, into a divine journey which will ultimately change lives and transform your outlook towards living. It is an enchanting work with a perfect blend of practical approach to a spiritual world.
