Traveling Hopefully: How to Lose Your Family Baggage and Jumpstart Your Life
"This book is for real, because Libby is for real." states legendary strategist Dr. Phil McGraw in his foreword to TRAVELING HOPEFULLY. With courage and candor, Libby reveals the real issues of her life--molestation, suicide, and mental illness--and shares her hard-earned insights on how her tragic family legacy shaped her life in negative ways.
She shifted her perspective from limiting to liberating, shedding those recurring themes and dramatically transforming her past. With a process she calls Five Steps to Jumpstart Your Life, Libby explains how others can rewrite their stories, as she did, to create more joy and fulfillment.
The 21 Hopeful Tools are easy to follow exercises and examples that take the reader through a transformative process, teaching how to:
*dissect the past to direct the future
*link internal clarity with external action
*create a Traveling Hopefully personal roadmap
*choose positive Travel Companions to support and inspire you
*keep moving toward what is wanted and away from what no longer serves
Filled with personal stories and those of others, TRAVELING HOPEFULLY inspires change--how to become a doer rather than a dreamer.

I brought my copy from a small book shop when I was looking for something to read. I am so glad I did as it was a wonderful book and I encourage anyone to go out and get a copy. If you can’t buy one then definitely head to your local library and borrow theirs. Libby Gill weaves a story of strength, courage, and hope that delighted me as I read through the pages. You can really relate to the author and her writing simply draws you into the story. At times you feel her pain and at the end you think WOW! It is encouraging to read her story and see the steps she took to overcome her own personal tragedies. You are left feeling like if she can overcome this, then so can I. I can look at my past and know that it doesn’t own me and that I am more then my past. You can take the negatives and family legacies and past and overcome them for an amazing future. The book is empowering to anyone who picks it up and reads it.
This book is for everyone in life, I read this book after someone told me I had no chance in life being my father was a drug addict and drug dealer. I honestly believe that my life had no purpose, at a very young age I was my father's twin. I really began to believe that I had no where to go, no one to turn to, and no reason to live being I was an addict like my father. However, being the person I am today I now know that you don't have to walk in the same footprints as your family, we are different people, we do not have to stay stuck in the family ways. Today I have been clean and sober for over ten years, I own a home, and I have 7 beautiful children whom all respect me and love me. I never thought in my wildest dreams I would be the person I am today. I can honestly say Libby Gill taught me a lot of the things I go by today.
BORN TO INSPIRE better describes what this book is all about. Every woman who's defined herself by her past or obligations to others, needs to read this book.
Libby Gill's real life stories of tragic family events will capture your heart, then give you strength to break through yours. With her process of Five Steps to Jumpstart Your Life, she will teach you how to dissect the past, leave your baggage behind, and build a life of change.
Libby's methods are real and her strategies can be applied personally and professionally. Libby Gill will show you how to shift your perspective from self-defeating to include a life of contentment, balance and peace. I'm proof positive!
This is an amazing book! In fact it's so amazing, I even bought the audio version as well. Libby speaks from the heart to the heart of everyone who thinks they're alone in the suffering and struggling of emerging from a poisoned past to blossom to their full potential as adults with their own destinies to forge. No one is more adventurous and hopeful than the resilient Adult Child who must defy unhealthy family messages and blaize his or her own path. Libby's book has become my cherished guide.
