I absolutely despise sales people! Well, that is until I became one. Its a very difficult task and really, most people are not cut out for it. You have to have a thick skin and not take everything so seriously. Thats step 1. But actually CLOSING a sale is much different. I love the ideas outlined in this book. It really made me think about what to say when, and what to listen for to know when they already made a decision and to stop with the sales pitch. That is one very common mistake, to keep up the sales pitch, even after the sale is in the bag. You lose the sale! Anyway, great book for beginners or pros.
I borrowed my copy from the local library hoping to learn some strategies to improve my direct sales. The Art of sales provides wonderful strategies in a step by step manner to truly help you find success. This book was my first on the subject of closing sales and I found it very motivational. I never knew about the different types of closing, I learned not only about the steps but how to effectively implement them. I have this book and several others by Brian Tracy on my wish list. If you think you can’t benefit from this book, then you are wrong. I really love his straight forward, simple step by step writing style. The way he writes his book keeps you engaged not because you want the information present, but because you are completely motivated and inspired. When you read the book, make sure you pay attention to the 11 time wasters in the sales process, I had no idea I was doing a few of these things. As a Work At Home Mom this book provided so much information I just didn’t know before and I can honestly say after reading it I am much better for the knowledge it provided.
I have grown to truly admire Brian Tracy in his knowledge of selling. In this work, Brian speaks to the process of F.A.B. (Features, Advantages, and Benefits). This book is better than many I have read on the subject of closing the sale. One of the major advantages is that Brian’s writing, especially in this book, is very step by step.
In selling, a step by step process clears up any ambiguity and allows you to learn exactly the right steps and to then close the sale successfully. This is what brings home income in the world of sales and this book delivers on helping a sales person do just that, close the sale successfully.
I would recommend this book for both the beginning sales person and also for the seasoned professional as a reference. This book will truly put money in your pocket when you apply the techniques as Brian teaches.
I have a hobby building web sites and when selling the hardest thing to do is ask for the sale. Close the deal and get on with doing the work. This book has helped me a lot,although this is still a difficult task.
