Zig Ziglar has inspired and motivated hundreds of thousands of people the world over, through his wildly popular seminars and bestselling books and audiotapes. One reason for Zig's continuing popularity is that his message is so simple and obvious once you've really heard it: success isn't just about how much money you make or what you own, it's a matter of personal fulfillment and the quality of your relationships–with your co-workers and customers, family, friends and neighbors, and especially with yourself. Another reason Zig is one of today's most sought-after motivational speakers and trainers is that his formula for success is so easy to understand and put into practice–and so effective.
Success For Dummies is a gold mine of startling insights and practical pointers on achieving success. No matter what your station in life, it can quickly put you on the road to the success you want and deserve.
I bought this book when it first came out back in 1998. I devoured it up in a short time. Which if you have seen the book is no easy task on the surface. It is chock full of great little stories that drive home the basic truths about success as well as side tips that we all can benefit from. I refer back to this book time and again and to this day have numberous post-its and other page markers for those "don't forget" pearls of wisdom.
One of the things I truely liked and still like about this book is that is covers a range of 'success' topics from a success formula, the relationships, getting motivated, goal setting, attitude and much more. So if you interested in any one topic this book is a great source - then if you get an interest in another topic well you already have a source of info to start with. And Zig just has a good ol'down home way of conveying his message without pounding it into your head.
I always enjoy reading these books. And the title just cracks me up. Yes it's a useful book for those who just want the basic how to help yourself achieve your goals book. It is a good, well written, informational book. It's has a strong motivational factor and I like that when a book can get you excited about your life. Sometimes people get into a little slump when it comes career and family obligations and this book offers you several examples of how to just keep going and pushing on through.
It does help you see that the things you want in life are obtainable and it gives you a good directional head start as to where to start first. Definite recommend!
Like everything in life, it takes time to act and build upon the principles set forth in this book. Success for Dummies comes across as a quick fix for the person who wants it fast and easy, but as with any book a lot of time and effort will have to be put in to achieve the success this book claims. I found Success for dummies informative, easy to read, and had an overall good experience. However, one does get the feeling sometimes that the book should be a little thinner and that someone was just talking to bulk up on pages. There are quite a number of options to choose from in the book, so you do not feel there is only one or two paths to follow to reach the success you dream of in life. I would recommend this book for anyone looking to achieve success the clear and simple way.
