For years I have felt something burning deep inside my heart. I knew there was a place I wanted to be and needed to be. Mr. Wilkinson helped me realize this burning inside is my God-given dream—my destiny. I was definitely “Ordinary” and needed to leave the “Land of Familiar.” The obstacle was me. I was living in a comfort zone and just simply living. This book is easy to read and challenging. It will encourage anyone to step out and place their future in the hands of the Dream Giver. I loved it and recommend it!!

My sister lent me this book a few years ago. "Do you have a big dream?" she asked me. Well, I'd never thought about it before, and I started to get annoyed as I began reading a book about dreams without a dream in mind. A big dream. That one big dream. The annoyance was set aside when this book gave me an epiphany about what I wanted to do with my life. It opened my mind, and showed me it was alright to have dreams, and how to follow them. It is because of this book that I am following the career path I am in now. This book showed me how to solidify my dreams and turn them into a reality. And now, three years after my sister handed me this book, I am about to make my first movie. It's been a long, difficult road over these past three years, and it ain't over yet, but without this book, I would not have realized my calling. It forced me to look inside myself and ask myself what I really wanted in life.

I recommend this book to anyone. There is also a DVD of The Dream Giver, a ten-hour seminar, which is also excellent.

The first time I read the words from the first chapter of this book about, "A Nodody named Ordinary [who] lived in the Land of Familiar" and his small, nagging feeling that something was missing from his life, I felt chills. I recognized a story that was so similar to me. And is probably similar to so many other people as well.

One day Ordinary wakes up with the words, "What you're missing you already have" echoing in his mind. And he discovers that what he has is a really Big Dream.

This book, while geared more towards Christians, is still great for anyone who has a dream deep in their heart that they are maybe afraid to follow, reach for, and pursue.

I found the chapters following the first not quite as compelling, but still got a lot out of it. And this book has helped me to pursue my dreams.
