Maxine tells you everything you need to know to lead a long and crabby life, including: "Try a little kindness . . . as little as possible," and many other insightful words of wisdom.
This was the only other Maxine book my library had in stock and it was a good one. Its a small book and from the 1990's, which is when Maxine was really first introduced to us all. Some of the cartoons I had seen over the years, but they didn't loose their punch at all. I was laughing out loud at my doctor's office one day reading these and had people asking me what I was reading. It was that good. I like to buy books like this to help perk me up throughout the day. They are great to keep in your desk or by your bed for a short read to get your mind off your worries and troubles and back to laughing (the best medicine after all!). I would recommend this little book to anyone who appreciates self-depreciating humor with a bit of a naughty edge. Its strictly PG but has a biting wit about it. I do not think that children would "get" Maxine's humor; however, any adult over the age of 30 surely will.
