In this first-ever paperback edition of his long-time best-seller, motivational speaker Steve Chandler helps you create an action plan for living your vision in business and in life. It features 100 proven methods to positively change the way you think and act-methods based on feedback from the hundreds of thousands of corporate and public seminar attendees Chandler speaks to each year. 100 Ways to Motivate Yourself will help you break through the negative barriers and banish the pessimistic thoughts that are preventing you from fulfilling your lifelong goals and dreams. Whether you're self-employed, a manager, or a high-level executive, it's still easy to get stuck in the daily routines of life, fantasizing about what could have been. Steve Chandler helps you turn that way of thinking around and make what could have been into what can and will be.
I got Steve Chandler's 100 Ways to Motivate Yourself: Change Your Life Forever as a gift from a friend. I am, by nature, a glass half full person and I never thought to read a motivational book, but my friend was so taken by Chandler's 100 Ways that he sent me a copy.
I started reading the book with a healthy amount of skepticism, but as I got into it the ideas started to grow on me. Each of Chandler's motivational tips is brief - you can read and digest one in less than 5 minutes, making it the perfect book to read right before bed or to carry with you to read in a waiting room, on a bus, etc.
All of the ways are simple and relatively easy to implement. My favorite, and he has several on this topic, deals with goal setting. Making a list - written down - of a handful of goals or objectives really makes those things concrete and motivates me to reach the goal or complete the task. This technique has made me more focused and helps me better use my time.
After reading this book I realized that I could be even MORE motivated with just a little extra effort.. so I started right back at the beginning. I must have gone through the book 3-4 times now.
I recommend this book for yourself or for a friend. It really is too easy to read and there is a tip in there for everyone.
