NEWLY REVISED AND UPDATED
The Out-of-Sync Child broke new ground by identifying Sensory Processing Disorder, a common but frequently misdiagnosed problem in which the central nervous system misinterprets messages from the senses. This newly revised edition features additional information from recent research on vision and hearing deficits, motor skill problems, nutrition and picky eaters, ADHA, autism, and other related disorders.
When I first learned that one of my children had SPD, Sensory Processing Disorder, or Sensory Integration Disorder I was scared, devastated and confused. I wanted what was best for my child so I ran out and purchased every book I could. By far The out of Sync Child was my favorite.
It was shortly after reading The Out of Sync Child that my other two were also diagnosed with SPD as well. We have since learned that each of them have different aspects of SPD. The Out of Sync child has helped me to learn strategies to deal with the different challenges each of them faces. As well as the emotional aspects of being a special needs mom.
