The world lost a jewel when Erma Bombeck passed away! This woman was unlike any other when it came to wit and wisdom. She took commonplace events and made them laugh-out-loud funny. Nothing escapes her beady eye and ready humor! Nothing is off limits. Erma was a pioneer in the field of comedy for women. Keep this book on hand to give you a lift when you need one. You'll never be disappointed.

Last year, when I was really depressed and having a hard time, my mom gave me this book. She told me to just read it when I needed a laugh and wanted to feel better. I did just that. This book was like medicine. Its so funny and so real. I had never read any books by this author, but she has tons out there and I plan to check them all out at one time or another. I would recommend this book for anyone, but I will say that it is more geared toward women than men. Through stories and antidotes (its a collection of the author's newspaper articles from the 1970s), the author makes you laugh through your tears and through her eyes at life and how we handle situations we come across on a daily basis. Some things never change, and this book shows that. It was written in the 1980's but is still very relevant.
