I recommend this book to all moms to be, especially women experiencing pregnancy for the first time. The book is first divided up into four parts. Part 1: Pregnancy, childbirth and your newborn. Part 2: Decision guides for pregnancy, childhood and parenthood. Part 3: Pregnancy reference guide. Part 4: Complications of pregnancy and childbirth.

The first part is broken down into months and then weeks, taking you step by step through exactly what is happening. Informing you of what you may be feeling and what your doctor should have gone over with you. My husband and I would sit down at the beginning of each week and read how our baby was developing. It helped us bond over the child and brought new excitement each week. When my pregnancy hit a complication the section on complications was useful in helping me understand, in simple terms, what was happening.

This book isn’t interjected with stories from other women or much emotion at all. If you’re looking for a book that deals with more of the emotional side or tips from other moms I would not suggest this book.
