When I seriously started researching weight loss surgery as a personal option, I had a lot of questions. And I mean, a lot! Before I met with my surgeon, I bought this book so I could learn all I possibly could from a doctor's point of view. I ended up highlighting this book until it essentially turned into a big yellow blur.
My favorite thing about this book is that it's very easy to follow and understand, and it answers a lot of basic questions and concerns that people have when starting their journey (like, how long will I be in the hospital, how much will I eat after surgery, etc.). I ended up handing out several copies of this book to family and friends that wanted to simply learn more about what I was going through. It's a wealth of information, and it doesn't sugar-coat anything. It tells you about all the bad things that can happen after surgery, as well as the good ones. It's definitely a good book to have on the shelf before surgery.
