When I was looking for a job in 2006 I spent hours on this site preparing my resume and sending it to potential employees and never got a single call. Not one. It was hard to believe since their are hundreds of employers, but i had no luck whatsoever and I have a good background, steady work history and a college degree.

This site did nothing for me. I've posted, more than one time, my resume on this job site. I have several top-notch referrals to guarantee me a good job, and this site has never helped me get a job. However, it is informative enough to tell you which places are hiring, so you always know where to look. It's like the people, that post ads on this site, never check it after they post the job offer. I'd much rather take my chances in real life, going from place to place, looking for a job. I don't recommend this site to anyone I know, but to each his own.

While I give it a 3/5 rating, I wouldn't really recommend this site. I've gotten better results from my local newspaper. While it sounds promising, the only thing I've ever gotten off Monster.com is a lot of spam, and a lot of wonky "work from home!" offers that were just more spam. I think some of it may depend on how many jobs are in your area at the moment, but the problem seems to be if the job market falls short, Monster.com will fill it up with spam. I'd rather just read the newspaper, or check out a different website.

Of all the employment related sites out there today, this is easily one of the best, if not the best, period. I'm a sucker for a website that gives attention to the design, or else I find it difficult to navigate. Monster has a great interface, so finding your way around the site is a snap.

You don't have to join to use the site, but membership is free and the benefits of joining, such as saved job and resume search results, are worth it. Actually performing a job search is just a little bot trickier, because there's a lot of fields you can fill out to revise your search, but it's easy once you've tinkered with it for a minute.

I think the most valuable aspect of the site is the reume writing services. I've never been any good at putting a professional resume together, but this section does all the leg work for you.

I placed my resume on monster.com a year ago when I was feeling around for a new job. I did get a few bites, but none of them were even remotely close to the field I was looking in. I do, however, know a few people who did get jobs by posting their resumes there, so I can't say that it is totally useless. The career advice section is informative and the online resume building tool was very user friendly.

My opinion of this site is that its a great idea, but execution is everything. On one hand, yes, if you need a job, its nice. But speaking as someone who has looked for a job on this site, they use clever marketing tactics in some advertisements that make you believe you have to fill out certain forms in order to get job results. This of course just sells your information to malicious people who then Spam you like its their job - because it is. So in that sense, Monster.com does create jobs...for spammers. When I was jobless I spent about 50 hours a week on this site filling out applications and taking training tests. None of which ever landed me even a single interview... after 1000s of applications. I recommend Craigslist.com!

This is a great website for finding a job. I found my current job through this site, as its the only site my employer posts with. The site is 100% free to employees to use. You can post your resume and make it available for prospective employers to search and respond to you about. You can also look at jobs in your area or all over the country. You can search for jobs by category as well. If you find a job you like and that you are qualified for, you can then apply right away online through the website itself. I would recommend this site to anyone currently looking for a job or for anyone who likes to keep their feelers out there for better opportunities. Its really easy to use and quick to search. It will take you some time to add your resume or apply for any jobs, but that is expected. All I can say is that it worked for me!
