Assolutely awesome! Recipes are amazing! I never thought you could make a vegan cupcake, but you can. Even my kids love them, so that says a lot!
This cookbook rocks! My friends let me borrow their copy after they served me some cupcakes from a recipe in it and I was hooked. I am a vegetarian but trying to move toward veganism and this book will definitely help me. I am going to buy my own copy for sure. I swear you will not be able to tell that these cupcakes are vegan. I baked some for a potluck and fooled all the meat-eaters there! I would highly recommend this cookbook for anyone, but especially for vegans and vegetarians. I also have to say that it is saving me money that I normally spent at a local vegan bakery. I loved shopping there and still do, but their cupcakes are over $2.00 each! I can not afford that as much as I would like too, but now I can make my own that are almost as good as theirs for much much less money! Great book and FAB recipes!
If I could sum up this book in one word, it would most likely be, "Yum!". I love cooking. I love baking. And yet sometimes baking within the requirements of a vegan lifestyle is difficult. How to get around the butter? Which oil is the best flavour substitute? Should I use a generic egg replacer or flax seeds or mashed banana? While all these questions can lead to some great experiments, sometimes you just want tried and true recipes you can whip up in no time for a work potluck. This is where 'Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World' comes in. No second guessing here- no wondering if maybe you might need to tweak the recipes a little to get it just right. Nope, none of that. Just delicious, easy recipes that take the guesswork out of cooking vegan. And as advertised, they're not offering just your normal vanilla/chocolate cupcakes here. My personal favourite (and that of all my coworkers who have been guinea pigs for many batches of cupcakes) is for Chai Latte Cupcakes- an unexpected, spicy take on the perennial quick dessert favourite.
So if you're vegan, or if you just want to cut back on your dairy intake, give this book a shot. The recipes are easy enough for beginners- and excellent enough to impress anyone.
