Who knew vegetables could taste so good? Moskowitz and Romero's newest delicious collection makes it easier than ever to live vegan. You'll find more than 250 recipes--plus menus and stunning color photos--for dishes that will please every palate. All the recipes in Veganomicon have been thoroughly kitchen-tested to ensure user-friendliness and amazing results. And by popular demand, the Veganomicon includes meals for all occasions and soy-free, gluten-free, and low-fat options, plus quick recipes that make dinner a snap.
I'm beginning to think that maybe Isa Moskowitz has some kind of monopoly on creating the most interesting, inspiring vegan cookbooks out there. She certainly has a history of writing good ones- Vegan With a Vengeance and Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World being two of her other efforts. But even for someone that good, she's really set her sights high with Veganomicon. She attempts to create 'The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook'. And you know what? She does.
This was the number one cookbook recommended to me when I made the decision to start doing more vegan cooking, and with good reason! Part of the problem with a lot of vegan cookbooks for beginners is that they rely on 'fake meat' products to lure people into the world of veganism- as if there weren't thousands of other foods waiting to be explored. Moskowitz and Romero don't do that here. You won't have to suffer through a chapter on the wonders of Tofurkey. Instead, they create delicious, unexpected dishes that will win you over entirely. They clearly know what they're doing, pairing fruits and veg with just the right herbs and seasonings to bring out their true flavours. I can't really say enough for how creative, satisfying, and inventive their recipes are (SAMOSA STUFFED BAKED POTATOES, people) Just buy the book and try them yourself. You won't regret it!
