This is great for children with a speech delay. Unlike the popular "Baby Einsteins" movies (which I like too! just in a different way) this movie focuses on the steps of speech. Instead of showing just the word over and over, it takes the word and breaks it down into specific sounds first. This is something that anyone with children in speech therapy will recognize immediately. Speech therapists work on labial sounds first (buh buh buh, puh puh puh, etc) to help strengthen the child's jaw movements, then work up to full words. This video is excellent, it encourages children to work on the sounds themselves, in a fun way! After the combination of speech therapy, the activities I've tried, and the dvd, I often hear my son running around the house making sounds! This is truly a delight from a 2 and a half year old who two months ago said nothing.
