Alli Weight Loss Aid Starter Pack - Orlistat by Alli

Time is ticking on the miracle diets, the untested, the untrue. Now you can look at weight loss differently. alli is the only FDA approved, over-the-counter weight-loss product. But it is more than just a pill. It is an innovative weight loss program.

The pill works by preventing your body from absorbing some of the fat you eat. And the program includes an individually tailored, online action plan to help you lose weight safely and gradually.

FDA APPROVED: The Food and Drug Administration approved the drug product orlistat 60 mg capsule (trade name alli) on February 7, 2007, for over-the-counter marketing as a weight loss aid. Alli is to be used only in conjunction with a weight loss program that includes a reduced calorie diet, a low fat diet, and an exercise program. It is approved for use in adults 18 years and older. A multivitamin should be taken every day when alli is used as part of a weight loss program. Alli works by inhibiting some of the body's absorption of dietary fat. Taken at meal times, it works by blocking the absorption of about 25% of fat in the foods you eat.

I did not like this product. It caused me to have to run to the toilet often and fast (sorry to be so blunt.) I felt mild cramps and it was very uncomfortable. It was basically like taking a very expensive laxitave.

If you are going to eat a totally fat free diet, drink lots of water, and exercise regularly, then Alli is a wonderful choice for you. Of course, if you can manage to do all that then you probably wouldn't need a weight loss aid at all. I took this product for nearly a week before I finally couldn't take the uncontrollable "oily discharge." It IS as nasty as it sounds! If you insist on trying this, I highly suggest you stay home!

I bought this product thinking it would help expell extra fat that I consumed on a daily basis without requiring me to stick to a diet. Finding out that I had to also eat a diet LOW in fat quickly disappointed me and made me regret the purchase. I think if I could've stuck to a healthier, low fat diet plus exercise on my own then I wouldn't have gotten this product at all. I was so discouraged that I kept forgetting to take it with meals and seeing the discharge they warn you about after eating a high-fat meal made me quit the program all together. I might give it another shot after I have these twins.

If used correctly following the instructions and guidelines provided by the manufacturer this product can help supplement any diet and exercise plan. The idea is that you ingest one pill right before you plan to consume a meal with a considerable amount of fat. The role of the pills is to block one fourth of the fat you consume. As a result the catch though is that for the first couple weeks if you do not use them as the directions specify the pills can give you extra bowl movements. This occurs in my opinion because since the pills are blocking some of the fat you eat that "blocked" fat isn't being absorbed so it has to be eliminated somehow. It comes out as an oily liquid. Even if you are not eating a healthy diet and exercising regularly the idea that these pills are blocking fat and that you can actually testify to the elimination and blockage of fat.
