How does someone get the most out of life?

This website started from asking this questions and many others. I started writing down my ideas, thoughts and experiences in trying to answer those questions. Today this website has over two hundred (now over 500!) articles and hundreds of comments from readers like you, hopefully moving us forward in finding the answers.

And what is the answer?

I started out working on goals, productivity and energy. From these lessons I built in habits of excellence. Waking up early every day, abstaining from television, exercising regularly and even adopting a vegetarian diet to improve my energy. This extra energy and productivity allowed me to write articles almost daily, coach soccer, instruct as a lifeguard, attend Toastmaster meetings, finish a full length interactive goal-setting program and managing to graduate second in my class in high school.

After moving to attend University, I took a different stance on the questions I asked before. Relaxing up my productivity I am now in the process of exploring the interpersonal realm of excellence. Relationships, socializing, networking and communication are now my prime areas of focus.

I still haven’t found an answer to those questions. Some might consider me a little too young to really know (I turned 19 in August). But hopefully I can share what little I do find with you.

If I could use only one word to describe Scott's blog it would be practical. The title of his post's are to the point and his headings make for a well-organized structure. Indeed, if your essay writing is a bit convoluted I absoulutely reccomend paying attention to his style.

That's not to say he's afraid to take a leap. Just check out his quantum physics article (sorry I'm too lazy to look up the exact name of this post). People bashed him to the knooks and crannies for this one, but in my opinion the article is interesting and demonstrates his creativity.

This blog does not mess around. This site might be a little off-putting at first, because Scott Young is not the coddling type. There aren't any lofty bots of motivation here, only hard, cold methods for getting the most out of your life.

The post titled "Personal Excellence Comes First" really got me thinking hard about my goals and how I'm screwing around. It's tough love. I don't agree with everything here, such as using discomforrt as motivation. If I used that as a technique for getting more writing done, what I produce would probably be all quantity and no quality.

Ok, the layout is really ugly, and the ads are somewhat distracting. But I can forgive all of that because the content is something I'm going to keep coming back for. And the author is pushing his e-books. Nonetheless, all of this can be ignored to get to the (plentiful) good stuff here.
