So what’s this all about, anyway? Don’t you mean ExtremeFit or something?
In terms of fitness, Almost Fit describes how I have felt about myself for most of my life. Not quite fit. Just about there. Working on it. Starting over. Gonna’ keep the weight off. This time for sure. Oh well, I guess I’ll give it another try. I can do it, for the millionth time, again…I hate this, but I’m so close this time…
You get the idea. Always seeking and failing to find that magic cure that lets me be the person I envision in my head: Calm, confident, and thin. And as it turns out, I’m not the only one.
However, for the first time in my life I think I may be onto something that has the potential to solve my weight problem for good.

This is a great site for ideas to lose weight for the long run. It proves short term fad diets are not successful. I recommend it.
This site explains what we know deep down, just don't want to believe. Basically it tells us that extreme dieting or starvation does not work in the long run, but only initially. It tells you how to incorporate the foods you love into your diet without going over board. It made sense and is definitely a concept I can live with. If you don't deny yourself the foods you love all the time, you will be more successful!
This is a cool site that is informative and personal. Its not written from a perspective of some distant dr., but by a real person. Very informative!
This blog is written by a REAL person and deals with REAL issues. If you follow it, you will be inspired by the writer and also learn along the way how the writer's issues can help you to solve your own issues. You will also get to see some great recipes, ways to save money but still eat well, and basic ways to improve your life and your health without going nuts! I am of the opinion that life is short and we must find something that works for us without feeling punished or like you are missing out on things. This blog is preaching that very ideal. The site will link you to articles on facts about our foods, give you insight on the struggles of a real family and person, and just make you feel like you are not alone in your own personal weight/health struggle. I need to lose over 200lbs and I know others that read this and are just trying to maintain their current weight. It really is for everyone, not just dieters. I would recommend it for sure.
This is a philosophy I can definitely live by! After three kids, sure, I have a little weight I need to lose. About fifteen pounds, actually. But I simply dread the thought of having to give up on my favorite foods, or make substitutions that in no way make up for the real thing (carob instead of chocolate? No thank you). Reading the tag line of the site "eat real food in moderation", I know that we're speaking each others language.
I love the posts on eating healthy while saving money. As anyone who does grocery shopping knows, is a lot cheaper to eat junk food. So I really appreciate tips like these. I'll warn you, though, not to look at the recipes while you're hungry. They are so good, and the pictures will make your mouth water. The recipes are super healthy and so good. I've already made a couple, and will definitely keep coming back.
I came across this site because lately I've been concerned about my weight as well as my health. There are so many diet programs and websites that claim to have the miracle cure to losing weight and achieving your perfect body in no time. This website connected with me because it seems a little more realistic. AlmostFit acknowledges the fact that there are no miracle cures. The site suggests that maybe the key is not to take extreme measures for a short period of time only to resort back to your old ways as soon as you reach your target weight just to find yourself in the same weight problem pickle a little ways down the line. Moderation seems to be the sensible middle ground. I know, personally, I love cheese and I couldn't imagine giving it up for any extended period of time. On the other hand I know it's loaded with fat and too much of it is bad for me. So with cheese, as well as with other delicious foods I like to indulge in, I have tried to have smaller portions and indulge in them less frequently. So far this seems to be working for me. I've started losing some of the weight I put on and I don't feel like I'm depriving or torturing myself in any way. I definitely recommend this site to anyone trying to lose weight and be healthier without having to give up their favorite foods completely.
