Can we change? Yes we can.

Hi, my name is Peter and welcome to my corner of cyberspace.

I started blogging in 2007 to share my personal story of change. To cut a long story short, I know what it is like to be depressed and drifting through life without purpose. My wake up call came in 2006 when I received the unexpected news I was to be a father. This news was the catalyst for me getting my life in order, and these days I am happy to report that life is great. Here are a few bits and pieces about me:

I am 26 years old and live in Vancouver, Canada. I immigrated here in 2007 from Australia.
I have a beautiful wife (Kathryn) and two boys under two (Xavier and Rohan).
I am editor of the popular self improvement blog Pick The Brain.
I have a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance and Banking) and Bachelor of Arts (History and Asian Studies) from the University of Western Australia

When discovering new self improvement blogs I always tread with a certain amount of skepticism. I know there are tons of them out there with nothing of real importance to say, just regurgitating the same old thing in a slightly different package. I really enjoy TheChangeBlog, however. Lately I've been thinking about making big changes in my life. I want to quit my job I've had for 9 years and find something more meaningful to do with my time and with my life. I also want to make personal changes as well and I feel like this blog shares a lot of the same values I have and presents them in an genuine, heartfelt, and intelligent way. While I'm just beginning my journey to personal growth I feel like this blog has been a good guide with suggestions like creating a personal mission statement, which has allowed me to focus my attention on what I really want at this point in my life and for my future.
