Unclutterer is the website for home and office organization. It’s not just for the helplessly disorganized who would lose their heads if they weren’t attached, and pack rats looking to put their stashes on a diet, but also for obsessive compulsive neat freaks looking to squeeze even more order into their lives. We hope we can make getting and staying organized fun and informative.
Chances are you don’t have as much space as you’d like, so you need to make the most of the space you do have. This doesn’t just mean finding a new nook in which to cram more clutter, or devising a clever way to stack piles of papers. Instead it’s about streamlining your space and your possessions so that you can be more efficient at work and enjoy a more relaxing and serene environment at home.
Unclutterer features tips, organization strategies, product reviews, reader questions and more. We’re not a personal productivity blog or a site about interior design, but we still hope we can help you in those areas. Getting uncluttered and organized can be the first step to more efficiently tackling your projects and realizing a better-looking space.
So sit back, subscribe to the RSS feed, and enjoy the tips and solutions. Feel free to email us and ask questions. We read all the email and respond to as many as time allows. If you like what you see, tell a friend. Cheers.
I loved the attitude I found here, and there were some great pieces of advice, too. Trouble is, my world is so cluttered I don't have much time to spend on websites about clutter! Really, though, this is one of those places that offer a lot of info if you have the time to surf around and check it out.
I thought this site was devoted to living clutter free, but it is actually a blog with a lot of different topics. I kinda pick thru it. Some stuff is useful and some is not.
As previously mentioned, unclutterer.com is very... hit and miss. The name itself kind of makes me twinge, since unclutterer doesn't sound very ... uncluttered? There's some good stuff there, the problem is it's good stuff you can find a million other places too. The blog is a bit of a mess, I'm sure there's good advice in there, but wading through it is really not how I want to spend my time. I'm sure the product suggestions are great, but it seems almost as if the author has pulled them from a subscriber site (read, a site where people can afford such things) and just re posted them. Not very budget friendly.
This site is in no way as comprehensive as sites like FlyLady, but there is plenty of useful info here. The problem is, you really have to dig for it. On first look, I think the blog's author might not understand his own mission statement. This blog is a mess.
A good deal of the products mentioned cost more than most people are willing to spend. I want cheap and easy ways to organize, not hundreds or thousand dollar products that will handle all my storage needs. The link-heavy site is really distracting. Should I keep reading or click on the thousands of links? I don't know. There's also a large amount of "A Year Ago Today on Unclutter" posts, which just added to the chaos. I don't see this as a site I'd return to, or recommend. But maybe if you have a spot itching to be filled by another blog, you'll enjoy the spotty achievements here.
I read this blog daily, for a little dose of inspiration, humor, and some solid advice. It's an entertaining combination of user-submitted tips, product reviews, suggestions for organizing, and pictures of well-organized spaces.
While I find this site informative and entertaining, it's not as motivating as it claims to be. I have gotten some terrific tips and product recommendations from this site, but it's kind of hit-and-miss. For example, I love looking at well-organized workspaces, a regular feature on the site, but haven't felt particularly motivated to get my workspace in shape. Yet.
But the price is right, and I enjoy seeing it in my feed burner every day.
My only complaint is that there is SO much clutter & so little time to de-clutter! However, I am always looking for ways to streamline my workspace (my kitchen counter) and to keep everything in it's own place. This web site is a must-go-to for that kind of information. You can search for very specific areas of clutter and you will come away with some strategies to get things back into order. Let's face it - getting rid of clutter is not taken care of in a weekend. But it really helps my stress level when I figure out one more way to be organized. Keeping the place neat is a bonus, but having information I need at my fingertips is priceless!
When my husband and I moved into a smaller house I found it really hard to organize all of our stuff. There simply was no room! A friend of mine, who is an interior designer, recommended me to Unclutterer. I found that they had some great recommendations – especially the bunk beds/loft space beds – that are not only practical but really stylish. There are suggestions that are affordable, but some seemed to be out of my price range. However, if you don’t copy the idea exactly, I’ve found there are many ways to make these suggestions more affordable. It showed me how rearranging and reorganizing can really make a difference to a space, without having to go out and buy a whole new set of furniture. Overall, I really found this site useful and would definitely recommend it!
Looking at the mass of clutter on my desk, I just had to give this site a try. Unclutterer.com proclaims it’s gospel to be the old adage, “A place for everything, and everything in it’s place”. Now to see if it could help me with my chronic clutter. The office organization section, quickly caught my eye… click. Most of the articles were either general in nature or dealt with organizing tasks, rather than environment. I think my time would have been spent better, cleaning up my desk , rather than looking for the few simplistic tips I found here.
On to the rest of the site, maybe an information gem will show itself. The baby section, while a few months too late for me did have some good advice, and expectant parent’s might find some useful ideas and information. A section that impressed me with it’s great photographic content was “Small Spaces”, the pictures and descriptions could be a great source for inspiration.
This site would be good to consult, if you are setting up a tiny apartment or bedroom, or expecting a child soon. Otherwise, you time would be better spent de-cluttering, instead of reading about it.
