My son love this book .It has experiements and it encourage interaction between parent and child which I find wonderful. great book for homeschooler.

I homeschool my kids and they love this book! We read it together and try to use these ideas in our lives. Great read!

I bought this book for my niece for her birthday this year. She had been talking to me and her mother (my sister) about how the school is really teaching them a lot about global warming and the environment and how each of us can make a difference doing little things. This book shows kids how they can do that. Its a cool little book. It has science experiments for kids to do with their parents to show them how acid rain forms and study noise pollution. It also has craft projects for reusing items like grocery bags. Because of this book, my sister now composts and my niece built herself a tiny greenhouse in her bedroom of all places where she grows flowers from seed year around. Its crazy! This book really changed some lives. I will say that the book is a little preachy for a kid's book. However, sometimes preachy can be good. I would recommend this book for anyone who has kids or knows a kid and is looking for a unique gift.

The Everything Kids' Environment Book: Learn How You Can Help the Environment--by Getting Involved at School, at Home, or at Play is a great book for kids to learn about their ever-changing world and all of its inhabitants. The language of the book is easy for kids to read, but not in a tone so mild, it bore them to tears (literally). There are plenty of games, activities, puzzles and information to stop up the "but why" moments for at least a few minutes. This book is not only for a kid looking to save the world, but also for the kids who just need to learn about the world around them and have a fun science project for class by Friday. I would especially recommend The Everything Kids' Environment Book… to babysitters, who are looking to please their charges and impress the parents with more happy knowledgeable kids than they left you to care for.

I will not pretend to be a saint. I do my share of littering and yes I am much more comfortable with plastic bags than cleaning up my own jute bag every time I go grocery shopping. Having said that, there are a ton of other things which I can (and I do quite a few of them) to make our planet a better place. I do not do it for getting praised. It just helps me feel better when I pick up a stray candy wrapper and dump it in a nearby trash bin or when I carry an empty bottle of soda all over a mall till I see a place to throw it in. This book tells you about a lot of such small things which one can do, and even if you end up taking a few of them up (and it is not a lot of extra effort), you will pitch in to help clean up the planet. It is a good book which I am going to give to my son now who sadly is taking after me in some of the 'littering' ways. The pictures and easy to read text makes it a nice and easy read for children though not many adults may appreciate its light tone.
