The book that shows how to get the job done and deliver results . . . whether you're running an entire company or in your first management job
Larry Bossidy is one of the world's most acclaimed CEOs, a man with few peers who has a track record for delivering results.
I have to disagree with the other reviewer. While its true this is like management 101, every time you read inspired words you see it from a different angle, which develops a well rounded view of a particular topic. That said, excellent book, excellent title. It IS all about execution. 100%. People have to know that no matter how good an idea is, no matter how big the funding, it simply doesn't matter, if the execution of those ideas are off, the results will be off. Take an example from the book, if Michael Jackson just walked backwards in billie jean, no one would have mentioned it the next day. Its the execution that was the cause for the amazement. Execute with authority and with a bigger perspective to your work and you will always out perform and get results you didn't think possible.
I thought this book was going to be the answer to my prayers. I have a billion things to do every day, and most projects sit around half-finished. It wasn't the greatest. It was basically on management 101. It's more of the same, with nothing really enlightening as far as new ideas. I wondered what, if anything, the authors really had said at the end of the book that I didn't already know. It was also extremely boring and tedious to get through. I don't really recommend this book unless you need some sort of sleep-aid.
