I have come across people who work hard and intelligent can't shine well in their lives. On the other hand there are a few people who are highly successful even though they are not smart and don't work too hard.Does fate or destiny play a role in this?

Destiny is all about being in the right place at the right time, and doing the right thing. It is not enough to work hard, you have to work smart. On the other hand if your Dad is a millionaire, it doesn't matter even if you are an uneducated, unintelligent fool. You will still probably get your family business, and be rich.

But then it all depends on what you do after that. Manage the business well, or run it to the ground?

There are several paths for you to choose in life, what changes your life is what path you choose. That decides your destiny.

I do believe in destiny.I strongly feel that we travel in the path that destiny decides on us. We are not capable of going against the destiny. Nevertheless we have to do our duty and fight against destiny at hard times.

I don't know about destiny, but I believe in luck. I'd call being in the right place at the right time luck, and nothing else.

i believe in cause and effect. so i guess i do. im not quite sure how i feel about free will however. how does one believe in both?

Fate only controls those who do nothing in their lives. We were born with freedom of thought and the freedom of action (with the exception of natural limitations). As long as one puts those freedom into action, fate cannot control anything.

I find that this is likely they know someone in the company or have the ability to talk people into making them successful. I don't feel this has much to do with fate, more like what kind of adversity gets in the way. Otherwise, fate is pretty cruel, as it must want a lot of companies to go bankrupt then.

Somethings are destiny but you can always do better when you try your best. My dad would never have met my mom if he hadn't totaled his car and gotten a different one. On the other hand he would be dead if he hadn't pulled over for a cup of coffee on his bike one time he came to the accident a bit up the street. He would have been between the two cars.

I do believe in destiny. I think there are things I was put in this earth to do, so I guess that would be following my destiny. But it doesn't take the place of hard work and making good choices. I think you do all that, and destiny unfolds as it will.

Because I believe God gave us free will, I do not believe that some of us are fated to be more successful. I think some people have been dealt a better set of cards, but everyone has to work with what they have. Why bother trying if fate ran your life?

I wouldn't really cause that destiny. I would more cause it being in the right place and right time. Pure and simple luck. Although, at some point the luck will run out, but working hard has more of a chance to pay off than simple luck.

I dont think it is destiny, I think everyone has their own problems and struggles, but how they present themselves is the key. A millionaire can seem to "have it all" and you can resent destiny for giving him everything and you nothing, but he could be miserable and you just don't know it.

I think things going unexpectedly well are best attributed to a bit of luck (if not outright skill). Sometimes the two are so related that it could be either. How many times has something gone well or badly for you that was due to timing or luck? Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

I believe in destiny, but I don't think it's pre-ordained. I think we create our own destiny by choices made in our lives.

Fate and destiny do exist, but I can't believe it is all pre-determined. There is a such thing as free will and choices. There are many paths we can take, which fate and destiny we actually experience is based on our choices.

I don't believe in destiny. Sometimes a situation just comes together at the right time and other times it doesn't, but if you stay determined then eventually good things will happen. I mean if everything was predestined then it wouldn't matter how hard we tried at anything because it would just happen and things would work themselves out.

how can you not believe in destiny? did you have a choice in what colors of eyes you wanted or where you wanted to be born? or did do people have the choice to choose if they're going to be blind or deaf? How come some people survive cancer and others dont? when you think about it, these are things we have no control over. It's our destiny.

In response to bosss, I have to agree with your view.

When you think about it, we cannot choose our own circumstances and where we are born etc. People can tell you that you have not gotten to where you are because you have not worked hard enough, but then some people don't work as hard and get through with flying colours. An aunty of mine was very poor a decade ago and eventually became a powerful high ranking society lady in future with a vast fortune. My other aunt was rich before but had to get it through harder work, but think about it. My other aunty got it entirely by luck and did not do anything to get it.

So how can you not believe in destiny? Some people are given things without them really trying.

Think about those who buy a lottery ticket - can u say that they are trying hard? Of course not. Some people can work to 50 years old and not have achieved that much money from someone who simply buys a $10 lotto ticket and strikes it big.

Some people don't wanna die early but they do.

We are essentially all born the same, but we all end up so different - is this really by choice? Wouldn't all of us want to be rich and have a happy life and marriage? But think about it - not everyone has all those things.

This is just my two cents on it but yes, I think from my experiences and from my relatives, who have all had extreme circumstances put on them, destiny is real.
