I was wondering if anyone had any experience with those detox diets? I was looking at some and saw some on television and you just drink these drinks that replace everything that you need. It says you can lose alot of weight? Is it safe? Can you exercise when doing it or are you too weak?

I have never personally done any of the detox diets but I have heard a lot of stories. They are great for crash diets for like a wedding or or beach season but they are definitely not great to have for a long period of time. A diet should consist of fiber and proteins and vegetables and fruits but just drinking a drink can not help your health and well being. So if you are looking for a crash diet then the detox would be great but not forever.

Thanks. I wonder if you could do it as a combination of the two. Quick to lose a bunch of weight and then switch to a regular diet. Lol, I love how I'm trying to figure out how to trick my body.

haha, well I don't know, I just recently brought Vera juice, which is aloe vera juice from an aloe plant. It's used to cleanse your system and it coats your entire track so that when you eat greasy or fried foods that irritate your stomach you won't have to run to the bathroom so quickly. I tried it, and it was $10 by the way, it taste like plastic, it's thick too. But I mean my uncle said that it works for him and he recently lost a bunch of weight.

I don't know if I could handle the tastes like plastic thing. That reminds me of taking Castor Oil. It's an ingredient in making plastic and it tastes like it. I just can't even think about it without gagging. I'll look into it more and see.

Not done a detox diet but I know dandelion is great for detoxing and helps the kidneys and liver. You can use clean leaves for salads.

I have no direct experience with these, but my sister-in-law has tried them out. Her take on them was that it sort-of worked for her, but she didn't feel all that great. My personal belief is that they aren't sustainable and could do more harm than good if not carefully monitored.

I have no experience with this either but do try to drink water since I believe that is one of the best things you can do for detoxing your body. I was on a primarily liquid diet that was doctor supervised and that's probably as close as I want to come, because I knew the nutrition was balanced.
