Right now, what do you see? Right now, What do you smell?, Right now,
what can you taste? Right now, what do you hear? Right now, who can you touch?

Using your senses is a great way to glean the
best out of the moment you are in.

Breathe, take a deep breath.

A lot of people are lost in the misery of the
past or preoccupied with their happiness in the future. If you fal in that category, take deep
breath… close your eyes and visualize yourself with a fishing rod, reeling it
in to you now… the fishing rod is really realing in your thoughts to the here
and now.

Once you get to here and now, then use your
senses and ask yourself the questions I outlined above.

Try to savor every morsel of goodness out of
this moment. Every moment has a
gift.

For myself, I actively trained my brain for six
months to live the moment every moment of every day. When I actually achieved it then an enormous
amount of stress was released from my shoulders and I became in the ‘flow’ of
life. Nothing could happen that could
take me out of the moment….

Now, I have to give myself permission to think
out of the moment because I am so far in the moment.

In addition to building the happiness skill of
present moment living, it is important to take time out for your own
self-care.

So many of us, especially women, tend to put
everything and everyone else in front of our own needs. Sometimes it can feel funny to have to take
care of ourselves, yet is vital for our sustainable happiness.

Also there is a dynamic of self-love, self-
acceptance, self-worth, and high self-esteem that plays a role in how well we
do at taking care of ourselves.

Imagine you are a bucket full of water and you
go around filling up everyone elses buckets yet there is lack of people filling
your bucket and eventually your bucket will be empty. Unless you take responsibility for filling up
your own bucket you will expect others to do it for you and folks, it does not
work!

Someone said our body is a temple, sustainable
happiness lies in your mind, body and spirit.
If our bodies are neglected and needs go unnurtured then sustainable happiness
will not be an option for you. Your
happiness is your responsibility. Use
your self-care to nurture your mind, body and spirit so you can ensure your
bucket is always full!

Between the using the skills of present moment
living and self- care, your sustainable happiness is just a few steps away…
