"It's an aerobic class, but with stationary bikes," he said.
What? How good could that be? Sounds so trite and boring. But then I went to a class, and it was so cool! It's like riding a bike in a pack to great music. Then I had a class with Bob, the ultimate spinning instructor. Bob was great because he's a real biker. He would get up each day with his full biking outfit and his bike on the side of the class. Then he would play amazing music. We were all jazzed up. And then, he would actually sometimes walk around the room and come right up to your ear and say, "Strength and power is what you are!" He was an amazing coach.

Because of Bob, I realized that spinning combines three of my favorite things - biking, great music, and a great coach. In fact, at some point I'm going to write a goal on becoming a spinning instructor.

There are ways to combine my passions.

I just took my first spinning class a couple of months ago and I'm totally with you. I loved the class yet I also thought it to be a little bizarre - "why am I riding a stationary bike in the dark to music?" My gym is in a very hip, art-forward neighborhood in Chicago and two of the spinning classes have a live dj! He spins music and drums along - talk about bizarre!
Can't wait to hear your experiences as a spin instructor!
