So my number one goal for 2008 was to climb out of the hole of debt I have been digging...wait is that right? Or did I build a mountain of debt? But doesn't a mountain sound positive and debt isn't really positive. Maybe because a mountain is an obstacle is why they use the cliche, but I think if I was able to build a muntain, my peeps would have a new found respect for me. They would want me to build them mountains too and then we could all live on our own mountains yodeling to one another...maybe I should look into building a mountain or two...sounds fun to yodel back and forth with my buddies. Anyway, back to the debt,with my first paycheck of the year I put 21% of my earnings toward my credit card. And I get 3 cheques in January so its like the next one is kind of a free cheque (no rent or bills needs to come off of it!) so I am contemplating putting 50% towards my cc....that will be about 1/5th of my cc cleared up in month one! That's Apple Jacks! Hmmm I like the way that sounds, maybe I will start saying that...I am the youngest person in my department...it would be funny if the rest of the team thought Apple Jacks is what the kids were saying now and started saying it....hey, I am trying to pay off debt and the littlest things need to entertain me! Oh, and I decided that everytime I get a fin I can't spend it, I have to save it. Then at the end of the year I will see how many fins I saved and maybe I can go away somewhere!

My second goal of 2008 was to get out and do new things that didn't cost a lot. Meetup.com is my new best friend. I found this group dedicated to trying new things in the city!!! I am going to an Emily Carr art exhibit on Saturday!!! Apple Jacks!!! LOL! I also found out that the university offers free lectures on Mondays on Shakespeare. I am going to the first one and if it's cool, I will go again. If it's lame, well at least it was a free night out :)

And I am making a vision board....I feel like an Oprah zombie, but it's fun to cut and paste at night. I forgot how much fun kindergarten was! Kindergarten was Apple Jacks! LOL!
