This week has been amazing because I've done something physical every single day. On Monday (Labor Day) I went surfing. On Tuesday I went to a spinning class, Wednesday I went to a yoga class, and today I went running. I really didn't think I had the time for all this, but I had a motivating factor... The Sports Club LA is the most prestigious gym here. They have the best equipment, plus saunas, jacuzzi's and steam rooms. So when I got a free week long pass I told myself I would use it every single day.
Wow! What a difference it makes! I am so much calmer and in the flow. I feel so much better about life in general and I can feel myself pushing through where I used to procrastinate. It's such an act of faith to take time away from the to-do list and basically invest in our bodies, but the payback is huge!
How do you like yoga, I think I would like to try it but I'm really stiff with knee & neck pain. Not sure I could get limber enough for it.
I absolutely love it! The way I got into it was rather unorthodox. I had no idea what was happening but my friend threw me into Level 2/3 class and I was so sore the next day that I realized it was a killer workout I wanted to get good at. I saw that it combines meditation with stretching, and strength training.
I would recommend finding a beginner class and looking for a lighter form of yoga such as Hatha or Anusara.
