7am
Took 22# turkey (that was brining so make that 25#) out of refridgerator in the garage and carried it into the house...stuffed turkey with aromatics and under the skin on the breast and thighs of the bird, put a butter, lemon/orange zest and rosemary mixture. Sealed the neck cavity, tied the legs and tucked wings back and under bird...carried it back to the fridge in the garage and had my brother in law put it in at 9:30am.
9:30am taught class. Thanks to the 14 troopers who came out this morning for a crazy Thanksgiving workout. Great way to spend the morning.
11am Braved Whole Foods for a few supplies.
12pm- 3pm prepared table, dressing with apple, leeks, celery, sage, thyme, pecans and garlic peppercorn bread, cranberry sauce (with fresh cranberries), mashed parsnips and potatoes with parmesan (mashed with a ricer--talk about an arm workout!), green beans with carmelized shallots, buttermilk biscuits (this was the first time I ever made biscuits and now I know why...I'd eat them all!), glaze for the turkey and voila...Thanksgiving dinner for 16! Family members brought the salad and dessert!
7:30 Guests left
8pm Froze 8 cups of turkey stock that was left over and made turkey soup. There were hardly any leftovers (which was a first!), but there will be enough for lunch tomorrow!
9pm Everyone in bed
9:30 I'm going to bed---Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!!
