Over his NFL football career, Terrell Owens has been one to engage in highly-publicized trash talking. In one such rant he calls former teammate, then Cleveland Browns quarterback Jeff Garcia, gay and later tries to distance himself from the comment. Another such tirade was directed at Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb. Owens famously asserted that the Eagles would be undefeated if they had Brett Favre at the helm. McNabb put on a calm face and agreed, later admitting how much the comment felt like a slap in the face.
Now that Terrell Owens is a receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, his antics have seemingly slowed down. Quite interesting that this is the team he has seemed to “settle” with. Many fans remember his disrespectful celebration on the Dallas star when he was on the roster with the San Francisco 49ers.
Fast forward and he is a much calmer, dare I say humbler, player for the Cowboys. Apparently, owner Jerry Jones must have the magic touch because fans have not been subjected to the signature attention-seeking that made Owens a permanent press fixture. In fact, after his team was defeated in the second round of the NFL playoffs, Owens appeared to shed tears in defense of his quarterback Tony Romo. His old coach in San Francisco, Steve Mariucci, came to his defense and claimed that he has seen this side of him before.
Fans are now left wondering as to the motive, if not the change of public face. While he has definitely been on a rollercoaster throughout his career, it is hard not to scratch your head at this one. We must believe that he is capable of humanity and emotion. So what do you think? Is he human after all?

This was actually very strange. Tears from TO.
It is at least nice to see that he does care about something or someone other than himself!
Regardless of any of his antics, or baggage, I would still welcome him on my favorite team, tears and all!!
I agree Jason. I can't say that I would complain having him on my team either. I must admit that I am happy for him that he seems to be on team that satisfies his needs! I can't remember a time where he defended his QB, so it was a nice change!
