Using a scale or bodyfat measurement each week to monitor your progress can be great, however, not more than once-a-week!

In the time between weigh-ins, focus on performance. Measure out a 1/4 or 1/2 mile loop or course in your neighborhood. Then time yourself - how fast can you get through it once, twice or three times? How many push ups can you do in 1 minute? How many sit ups? What other things can you measure? Squats in 2 minutes? Pull ups - can you even do one? Everything is measurable. Measure it, write it down, and work on improving it. The weight loss will happen as a great side effect!

Focusing on weight loss can be a bummer and even depressing - especially when you're doing everying "right" and the weight just isn't coming off. Your physical performance is actually something around which you have much more control and you will see POSITIVE gains regularly (if you're training hard that is!) So pick things that touch, move and inspire you, and go for it - as if you were training for the Olympics! After all, you are - your own!

Andy,
I will take your advice; it seems to be coming from a great source - you've obviously done something right to look as sculpted and energetic as you do!
I will weigh myself once this week and focus on my number of cardio workouts and play a game with my jumproping and other exercises I'm learning.
Thanks,
Jillian
