When someone does something nice for you, something a little extra, you probably appreciate that. We all like extras. Little extras, big extras, put ‘em in our cars, on our ipods or bring flowers for no reason and it will put a smile on your face and in your heart. The extra, free case that came with your sunglasses will keep them scratch free and in much better shape than without a case. So if you like extras, how often do you do them for yourself? How often to you “get by”, or “make do” instead? What’s important to you? Do you like great flavor? Do you like looking great, feeling fantastic and being clear, focused and sharp? Taking a few extra steps to make your life be wonderful is far more fulfilling and exciting than a bland, boring, no frills kind of existence so stop skimping on you. When you do, it is not only you who suffers, but everyone who comes into contact with you. When you are feeling great it is inspiring and brings joy to everyone instead. My clients repeatedly tell me that coaching with me has not only improved their waistlines, but their relationships, their work and all sorts of unexpected income has come in for so many that I want to coach with me! Letting go of the blocks with a coach is one step and taking the extra steps to create food that you really feel great about and is fun for you, is another. One thing to do is to keep mixing things up so whole foods never get boring. An example is a quinoa breakfast. I was starting to get tired the regular quinoa with added fruits and cinnamon. It’s great but I needed something different. I dry roasted the grain so it created a nutty flavor and put it in my coffee grinder to grind before cooking so that it was extra smooth and creamy. Voila, a brand new breakfast got created by taking a couple of extra steps, and I enjoyed my new creation immensely. With all that complete protein in tact, I was nicely satisfied until lunch. The extra steps didn’t even take much time or effort so it felt about the same to me as cooking the grain up plain but had such a wonderfully different flavor and texture. Small steps can yield big results.
