I enjoy watching my nieces and nephews play sports because they focus completely on the game and they play quite naturally. My 11 year old niece is a terrific, fierce soccer player. She competes every weekend. She is very organized about it. Her coach requires the team to organize their own uniforms, meals and transportation and from games. This strict rule has instilled a spirit of individual responsibility AND a commitment to the team. Any player who misses a practice or loses their jersey or who shows up late CANNOT start the game. This imposes a penalty on the whole team. Result: all of the girls encourage each other to rise up and play like champions. I enjoy watching a group of little girls mature into serious and disciplined young ladies.

Enlisting your team to rise to a higher level can improve results for everyone.
