Where do you spend your time and energy? It's so easy to feel overwhelmed and that there is never enough time and there is a lot of support for that idea if you want it. However, I ascertain that there is enough time if you want it. There is enough support and resources available for most. Are you willing to do what it takes to have what you say you want? There's the rub for so many people. It's so much easier to make an excuse to keep doing the behaviors like overeating, eating foods that clearly are not in your best interest and filling your time with things like reading emails that are just not prudent for what you really are interested in.
Living in Los Angeles I really get to see that even the most struggling actress can find the money she needs for ANYTHiNG, if she wants it enough. Some get another job, some date like crazy and coerce the current crush to fund her desires, some seem to manifest out of thin air while others are moresystematic and safe getting a stable day job and allotting what comes in a very budgeted manner but most of these girls will risk a purchase on a credit card if they feel they are investing in something they really really really want.
Those that risk and go for their lives are the ones who get more. I've seen people who do not heal because they want things to stay the same only they want the outcome to be different. The woman who insists she ought to be able to eat as much as she likes of anything she likes and still be slender is literally out of her mind. Not crazy, just outside what she would think if she was looking from another vantage point. She just wants the food more than being slender. Some want to avoid their feelings more than they want health or slimness. Some want to feel overwhelm because then they have a perfectlylegitimate excuse for not having the life they say they want.
So how do you have more time in your day. That's a whole session of information or perhaps a chapter in a book but for this little blog, see where you might be siphoning off your energy and time into things that are not really important to you and start committing some time for things that are important to you. If luxury time to do nothing is important, put that into your schedule. Some of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century scheduled time for sitting for ideas. If you need exercise, find the corner of your day to fit it in. If cookies are a problem for you, don't put them out, don't go looking for them, find something your more interested in than a distraction and a pleasure that only lasts for a few minutes anyway. Wait for a time when that pleasure is really what you are intending to do in that moment.
Stepping out of overwhelm and into your life takes a degree of discipline. Do you have what it takes? Are you willing? Where are you not willing? Let's play with that!
Love the post Susan and I agree with you whole-heartedly. If you're not willing to settle, then you can live like a King/Queen on a pauper's paycheck.
Struggling is a state of mind. I choose to replace those words and focus, instead, on the fact that I have the courage to dream with my eyes wide open while creating my own luck or L.U.C.K. (labor under correct knowledge)
One of my favorite quotes:
Are you in earnest? seize this very minute! Whatever you can do or dream, you can begin it. Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it....
