We’ve eaten the holiday
cookies (yum!) and toasted to holiday cheer. We’re packing up the
presents and heading into the New Year (I did not set out to write a
holiday rhyme, but stay with me folks). With chandelier earrings and
mock-crocodile, let’s step into 2008 in trendy new style!

Ok, so the words are a bit corny, but the sentiment is there. As we move into a new year, some lovely trends follow.

To stay ahead and in the style know, here are ideas for a closet full of fresh New Year fashions…

There
are some key colors dominating the fashion scene come 2008: rich
purples, cobalt blues, black/white and metallics of gold and silver.
I’m writing to you from Hollywood, so no better place to put in my
fashion bid for the Diane goes Hollywood Sweater Poncho with Belt.
This piece has got it all! The comfy chic silhouette of the
stretch-knit sweater and the aforementioned top trend colors of black
paired with the metallic gold belt make it a perfect piece for a trendy
(and warm) winter.

I was always so afraid of the
“skinny jean” until I gave it a test-drive. I’m here to say embrace the
trend! Skinny doesn’t have to mean skinny (take it from this curvy
girl). Look for stretch denim with a slim fit and you are working the
look. I especially love the Miss Tina Stretch Denim in Dark Denim for an even more slimming effect.

A
slim fit jean looks great with the popular ballet flat, a thick-soled
high heel for a leaner look (hey ladies - high heels will do that for
you) or the Hollywood celeb-spotted trend of a knee high riding boot over the jean. Instant star style!

Speaking
of star style, the fabulous Miz Tori Spelling knows a thing or two
about trends. I am loving her jewelry collection, especially her snake-adorned pendant.
Snake accessories are making the scene on the red carpet so they’re
bound to be big in 2008. Make sure to take a bite out of this sexy
trend.

With all of this trend talk, I must not
leave out the global trend of going green and I’m not talking the
color. As humans, we must pledge to take care of ourselves, our
children and our planet, so let’s do it in fabulous style! I love the SCOOP Green and Gorgeous 100% Natural Tote. It’s loud, it’s proud and it’s a chic, unique statement piece for the mall, market or movies (perfect to stash candy in).

Happy Trending!

Thanks Jess for the fashion-forward tips. I'm an all black type of girl, but lately, the color yellow and I have been getting along. So, I'm doing more yellow this year and I too, have gotten over my fear of skinny jeans. Glad to hear that I'm not the only one.XO
