Check in with yourself a hundred times a day (this sounds like a lot but if you split it up it's only ten times an hour over a ten hour period). How are you feeling? What are you feeling? What are you thinking? Are you in alignment with your intent? Are you being positive? You will begin to get a very clear picture of where you mind takes you when it's joy riding and you're not paying attention. This helps you get insight into how the results that are showing up in your life are matching with what you're thinking. If you're having trouble remembering to stop and think, ask The Universe to gently remind you...and see how that works.
The most immediate benefit is that of being more present. At the moment that you check in, you automatically bring yourself back to the present moment, which is where your power is. It also bulids your discipline muscle. Then you can add in other practices down the line. For me, it is also a way to stay in touch with Source, because each time I bring my self back to me, I bring my self back to who I really am, to my connection to the power within, the spiritual being that is creating. It's actually very freeing. And when I practice connecting to my Source, I am practicing my Faith and belief that there is something greater than me, that wants to express through me. My job is to stay present.
