In 1996 when I was deeply engaged of my study of channeling I noticed a rather disconcerting trend in my midst- people spitting in my immediate environment. It happened after I had walked by, on another occasion someone in the act would catch my eye while I was waiting at a stoplight, driving across town I would see someone else. Now fortunately I was never in immediate danger of being greeted directly in this fashion (thank goodness), but it was happening so often I could no longer chalk it up to coincidence. So I asked my spiritual teacher at the time about what was happening. She looked at me as if I clearly hadn’t gotten the celestial memo and explained in a matter of fact tone that my channeling practice had sufficiently amped up my vibratory rate that my auric field was now offering an energy that allowed people to release what no longer served them- the spitting was just a physical confirmation. I was not exactly thrilled to hear this information. Couldn’t folks throw rose petals at my feet instead- or something?
This reaction, by the way, still occurs today. Rather than being sent askew by this phenomenon, now every time it happens I am reminded of two things: 1.) the power we all have to effect change in our immediate environment- be it on the physical or energetic level and 2.) a fellow soul in the midst of releasing what no longer served him is a wake-up call for me to examine once again what I am “hanging on” to in my world. For years I have uttered a simple prayer, “Father-Mother God thank you for my growing ability to release what no longer serves me…” I have no idea where this prayer came from, nor do I recall what circumstances impressed it so deeply in my consciousness. What we see in our environment is a reflection of what we need to attend to on our own plates. The walls that we would try to erect between different types or classes of people are really more porous than we might think. Just as long as whatever projectile that is leaving the premises is not directly targeted at me, I’m good. The impact of this lesson is searing enough.
great story. I didn't know that channelling does that, though I've heard some crazy stories of other healers and the negative spirits that came into their midst.
I've read that when we begin to heal ourselves sufficiently while maintaining a mind that is free of negativity, then we raise our awareness/consciousness, which raises the vibratory impact that we have on our environments. So, essentially, we each have the capacity to be a healing influence to all those within the range of our thoughts.
Sounds like you've got the gift already! I tend to bring out either the best or the worst in others. I like it that way.
Do you have any simple steps to share that could help others release those things that no longer serve them?
I think the key is to keep things as simple as possible. For some reason as I write here I am being given the analogy of dealing with a person with hoarder issues/tendencies. For someone in that position it would be very stressful to imagine clearing the whole premises in one fell swoop. Sometimes all we can manage is to conjure up an intention to consider and ultimately relinquish aspects of our lives and being that are no longer working step-by-step. The author SARK talks about the concept of "micro-movements"- for instance if you wanted to clean your closet the first step could be opening the door, the next- moving a shoe to the left- and so on and so on... each step creating an energetic momentum that communicates to the Universe and your subconcious mind that some shifts are underway and that there is a new "groove" being created. The best part, in my opinion, is that these steps could be the most wimpy, less-than-confident steps imaginable- but they all do the job because they are still moving you forward in your task of traveling more lightly in this lifetime. Everyone's process and circumstances are different- but the ability to take a first initial step is within everyone's grasp. Thanks for stopping by! :)
