I'm often asked what is my secret to warding off wrinkles. My prescription for youthful, soft, healthy skin is:
1. Drink lots of water
2. Have a positive attitude
3. Smile
4. Keep face clean and hands off
5. Get enough real sunshine in the outdoors and wear SPF 15
6. Sleep 7-8 hours per night
7. Go easy on the foundation and NEVER wear make-up to bed
8. Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables
9. Dab olive oil on skin after bathing, especially under the eyes
The first eight suggestions are no-brainers. The olive oil is a long time Italian family tradition that I adopted years ago with delightful results. Olive oil is inexpensive, applies smoothly, leaves your skin feeling silky, and because it is naturally emollient, it moisturizes and plumps. Give it a try and see if you experience a difference in your skin texture. Of course, don't add vinegar. You don't want to smell like a salad dressing! P.S. Olive oil is also great on the hands, feet, and hair for that extra shine!
