He may be out of the running for President, but Mitt Romney has gotten more PR for the Mormons since Donny and Marie. It's all that smiling.
While Romney worked hard to gain support from family values conservatives (ie. no abortion or gay marriage), and talked up middle-class tax cuts and health insurance, what really got headlines was his religion.
Is the Mormon faith really that interesting? Romney even tried to spin it, giving a speech on Dec. 6, in which he recalled remarks made by JFK addressing anti-Catholic bias. Romney actually vowed to serve the nation above his church, if elected president. I thought that was implied.
Regardless of the stalled campaign, Mormons are in the media in a big way again. Even Donny Osmond is back on TV. And Marie's got another talk show coming. I'm thinking those two might have some thank you notes to write.
